This is How Much Fun a Wedding Should Be
Picked this up from another blog (known as Pleasantries). This video made me smile and laugh and appreciate how cool people are.

WoW Freakout
Okay, World of Warcraft is dangerous, alright? It's addicting. Like, meth addicting. Don't do it. This may save your life one day.
This is a video of a child whose WoW subscription was cancelled without his consent. Note that he has been reduced to a primal state. He appears to be being possessed by evil, Satanic spirits, based on the convulsions and animalistic sounds he is making. Do observe.

xkcd
I've always been a fan of some good humor and wit. There are a lot of ways to get your funnies out on the interwebz: Viral videos on Youtube and such, written gags or pranks, funny pictures (like LOLCats), etc. etc. One of my favorites has been the webcomic - the free comic book, available with a new issue every few days, all for your viewing enjoyment. I've taken a liking to a few over the years - Ctrl+Alt+Delete and Penny Arcade, to name a few. However, one has really captured my attentioned, called xkcd.
Oh, right. LINKY!
Oh, by the way, I'll be in Albany at the National Catholic Forensics League Grand National tournament until mid-Monday. No updates 'til then. Just keep yourself occupied by pressing the "random" button on xkcd. Yay!
xkcd is not your traditional, stupid humor. Sometimes the comics aren't even funny at all. When they are, it's more than likely that they have geeky humor, obscure references, and a bit of insanity. I'm not sure what it is about xkcd that draws me in - it's constant use of geekery (I feel somewhat better to see that there
are people that are far nerdier than I, with constant references to networking, computers, and math in the comics), its sometimes emotional comics, or even its liberal use of craziness. Either way, it's just plain funny.
To show a couple of my favorite comics... (Click to see fullsize)

- The most efficient method of making hash browns.
- Hehe, LHC jokes. I fail.
- Realy cool: The universe on a logarithmic scale. Note Snoop Dogg hanging around, and the cat being dropped off the top of the observable universe.

Obama the Comedian
Barack Obama is many things. President of the United States. Devoted husband and father. Face of the American people. Kenyan-Hawaiin. But, apparently, he has been hiding a hidden skill from us throughout this long journey we've taken with this whitest of black men: a knack for snappy one-liners and a post-politics comedy career.
A few nights ago, Barack Obama brought the house down at the White House Correspondants Dinner. Below is a video. WARNING: 17 minutes long, but full of suprisingly funny political humor.
Don't worry, you can laugh. The Secret Service have cleared this one.

Wise Words
Today I thought I'd share a quote I read in the November 13th edition of The Economist...
The Israelis, for instance, could put an end to a hundred years of futile hostilities by buying somewhere for the Palestinians. If they clubbed together, they could get somewhere really nice—Florida, maybe. China could stop making aggressive gestures towards Taiwan and buy Malaysia instead. It’s already run by Chinese, so they’d hardly notice the difference. And Barack Obama, committed to uniting America, could defuse the nation’s culture wars by purchasing an alternative homeland for those of his countrymen who want more use of the death penalty, less gun control and no gay marriage. A slice of Saudia Arabia’s empty quarter would do nicely: there’s plenty of space and the new occupants would have lots in common with the locals.
The British are familiar with the notion that, if you’re bored at home, you grab somebody else’s country; but recent experience suggests that invading places can be expensive and troublesome, so a market solution seems a better way of dealing with national dissatisfaction.
